Using Your At-Home Blood Pressure Device

How to get the most accurate blood pressure reading

By participating in SimpliFed's at-home blood pressure program, you will be asked to take your blood pressure daily and enter your readings into the SimpliFed app. Although you will have frequent appointments with our team and the ability to troubleshootwhenever needed, it's important for you to learn how to useyour device correctly.

Here are some tips to make sure you get the most accurate reading.

Before you take your blood pressure:

Relax for at least 30 minutes in a quiet place
Avoid eating, drinking, caffeine, tobacco use, and exercise for 30 minutes prior
Empty your bladder
Sit in a comfortable chair with your back supported for at least 5 minutes
Roll your sleeve up if applicable

Using your blood pressure cuff:

Sit with your feet planted on the ground
Do not cross your legs
Set your blood pressure cuff on a flat surface that is chest height, where you can also rest your elbow
Wrap the cuff onto your arm, about halfway between your shoulder and elbow, where it feels snug, but not too tight.
**It is important to note that the tube will rest closest to your elbow
Press the power button on your device and remain calm and quiet while the device works to read your blood pressure

How to read your blood pressure:

Your blood pressure device will display several numbers on the screen upon finishing reading your blood pressure.

It is important to enter the SYS over DIA
(You will not enter your pulse into the system)
For example, if your display shows:
SYS: 120
DIA: 70
PULSE: 60
You will read your blood pressure as 120/70.
A normal blood pressure can range from 129/92 to 133/89 and anything in between. If your device reads any higher, SimpliFed will reach out.
